Earlier this spring, graduating students from eight universities and colleges across the Archdiocese of Toronto gathered at St. Paul’s Basilica for the Campus Ministry Graduation Mass and Reception. This year’s event drew over 200 guests including graduates, family, friends and campus ministry staff.

The annual event, which began in 2022, honours the students who have participated in Catholic campus ministry during their years in university or college. While pursuing a demanding academic program, these graduates have shown generous commitment to building the Catholic community on campus through their active involvement.

The Mass was celebrated by His Eminence Cardinal Thomas Collins and concelebrated by the priest chaplains of the archdiocesan campus ministries. Following the Mass, a festive reception was held. An alumna of the University of Toronto Mississauga Catholic Chaplaincy, Natalie Marentic, shared words of wisdom with the students about keeping their faith strong as they move into the world beyond the classroom.  Each graduate was also presented with an icon of St Michael the Archangel, patron of the archdiocese, as a token of appreciation for their dedication.

It was a joyous day of celebration, as the graduates reflected on their time in campus ministry with gratitude and looked forward to new opportunities to live out and share their faith in the future.
