Children's Liturgy of the Word Program

Children are invited and encouraged to participate at 10:30 am Mass on Sundays. The Children’s Liturgy of the Word Program runs from September to June, offering a variety of techniques to help children grow in the spirit of our Lord. With the guidance of our Pastor, parish volunteers and students, children experience the Mass in an interactive manner.  Children are invited to walk in the opening procession to carry the cross and book of worship. They gather in the Church hall to learn the gospel message in a simplified version, along with the completion of weekly response sheets, the singing of hymns, the reciting of prayers, stories and discussions. Children as young as three years of age, and up to eight years old, continue to participate in the offertory portion of the Mass.  They are called up to the altar to hold hands with the Celebrant and join in singing the Our Father in prayer and in he sign of peace. (No meetings at the present time.)
