To stand in solidarity with the 327 million Christians who face persecution around the world, St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica will be illuminated in red on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.

Aid to the Church in Need encourages churches around the world to use red lighting this Wednesday as a reminder of the blood of the martyrs.

Archbishop of Toronto, Cardinal Thomas Collins, will led a prayer vigil for persecuted Christians on Wednesday, November 20 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica. All are welcome.

During the 2019 federal election campaign, Carl Hetu, National Director of the Catholic Near East Welfare Association Canada (CENWA Canada) discussed the plight of those who face violence because they are Christians.

Few people realize that Christians are the most persecuted religious group on Earth. You can help raise awareness of this problem by using the hashtag #RedWednesday.
